Dr. Schlaerth is a gynecologic oncologist. I see him in Bakersfield, CA. He is always on top of the latest information regarding treatment options for cancer. He also makes you feel like he really cares about your individual situation. He definitely does not make you feel like an idiot. He is a great doctor!

Dr. Burris is a phenomenal endocrinologist. I have seen him for over 11 years now.
I had suffered from hypothyroid condition, which no others seemed to be able to diagnose (!) or treat. (Including the Mayo Clinic.) He was very patient and over a period of about 18 months was able to get my endocrine system in excellent balance. He is truly top notch.

I have had several surgeries with the amazing Dr, Shestak! He is a perfectionist and has a wonderful bedside manner. Truly a commendable trait and almost impossible to find these days!

I recommend Dr. Stuart Lee because I was his patient in 2002. He operated on my spine and I must say that he is one of the most loving and compassionate doctors that I know. He explained the procedure well and after he performed the surgery, he cared for me until I was better. Unfortunely I have another ruptured disc and I have been referred to see him again. Because I was so pleased with his performance the last time, I did not hesitate to tell my doctor to send me back. Dr. Lee is the best.

One can not have a better friend than Dr. Cheung. When I had my 23-hour brain tumor surgery in 1990, he stayed over night to update my family & friends my condition in the OR. When I needed to move up the mastectomy for my breast cancer recurrence, he served as my 2nd opinion doctor and saved me from running the risk of getting my right shoulder/arm paralyzed. (The margin ended up to be just 0.5 mm from my right pectoralis muscle.)
He's a very busy doctor. Besides practicing medicine, he used to run a Tai-chi studio teaching the locals how to improve their health both mentally and physically. He speaks Cantonese and also taught himself Mandarin. Look at the many areas he's specialized in radiation oncology, one wonders if he's ever got any time for himself.
I feel very fortunate to have him as a friend.
He is a great doctor and looks at all possibilities in diagnosis. He has been the best internist I have ever had. I live an hour or so away from him but work close that is why I go to him, but if I didn't work close he will remain my doctor.

Charles Shih-Cheng CHANG
recommended by Mingming S
:
Early this summer, June 20th to be exact, we will be celebrating the 20-year anniversary of my 23-hour brain surgery. The doctor who had saved my life by working tirelessly during the marathon operation is Dr. Charles Shih-Cheng Chang, a neurosurgen who has done his residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital (I had learned later that's where the U.S. Presdents go for their annual physical and other medical procedures) after graduating from Johns Hopkins University Medical School and is board certified in neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and neurology.
His qualification was conveyed to my husband and me by Dr. Gopal Guttikonda, the neurologist who had diagnosed my life-long brain tumor which had grown to the size of 4cm x 5cm x 6.5 cm, almost the equivalent of a tennis ball. "I would not recommend anyone but Dr. Chang at Scott & White Hospital," said Dr. Guttikonda.
After 10-day semi-comatose in the ICU and 30-day rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech... [More..]
Before to choose a doctor I always do Internet research collecting all the information whatever is available. Speaking about Dr. S. Weiss, I should mention his remarkable article I've read just today in one magazine in the clinical waiting room in Credit Valley Hospital (Mississauga). I was impressed so much how deep understanding and sofisticated knowlege of the conception of cosmetic dentistry is shown! By my nature I'm a designer and I value very highly everything what is really esthetic. To be a great artist it's necessary to have the talent, the sense of beauty, harmony and balance. The sense is real God's gift which can be given not to anyone even well-educated and very intelligent peson. And it was so pleasantly to see that Dr.S. Weiss is the person who has this exeptional sense, this gift. I can trust him myself and I kindly recommend to everybody this highly professional doctor.
The first impression I got from Dr. Fothergill was that he's balding. How could it be? He's barely over 35. Did he intentionally get the receding hair line so he would look older than his real age?
He was recommended for my hysterectomy because of his expertise in the state-of-the-art TLH/BSOprocedure. The whole surgery is done laparoscopically and is one of the so-called minimally invasive procedures. I went home exactly 24 hours after I had checked in at the hospital.
The assistant surgeon I met during the pre-op appointment had mentioned to me that Dr. Fothergill is 'a highly sought-after doctor'. What impressed me most is the surgeon's genuine smile which put me completely at ease knowing that I will be in good hands.
After a 30-minute walk holding the IV pole at midnight - just 8 hours after I had waken up from the surgical procedure, I was visited by the resident doctor on duty. He told me that Dr. Fothergill had specifically asked him to check on me. How nice... [More..]
I have been going to Dr. Rainwater for several years now, and I would highly recommend her to any woman looking for a compassionate, thorough doctor. Even though I only see her once a year, Dr. Rainwater always remembers that I'm in school and asks how my studies are going. Since I've been unemployed, she has tried to find ways to help me reduce my medication expenses by recommending a cheaper pharmacy or finding a different medicine that works the same but costs less. She is a great doctor and she seems to genuinely care about her patients. I wish all the doctors I see were like her!
Christopher Owen RUUD
recommended by MM & Jackie
:
Dr. Ruud is forever calm and caring. He stays on top of current practices/researches and is active in his professional organization (Past President Texas Society of Medical Oncology). He's the nicest doctor one can get when getting a breast cancer diagnosis that requires chemotherapy.
He has been the medical oncologist over my two bouts of breast cancer spanning seven years. While the Director of Breast Cancer Clinic at Scott & White Hospital and Assistant Professor - Internal Medicine of Texas A&M University College of Medicine in Temple, Texas, he's forever humble and continues to put his patients' interests first.
His staff are loyal to him, so are his patients - mostly because he is a devoted doctor who is genuinely concerned about his patients. One could never guess this mild- mannered doctor holds three specialties (Internal medicine, oncology, hematology/oncology) and had done his fellowships at Mayo Clinic in Developmental Oncology, Hematology and Medical Oncology. ... Dr. Adelson did my complete hysterectomy and I was home the same day with only tylenol feeling great. I my only problem was I wish I had known about him years ealier. I suffered for years with horrible bleeding and asked doctors over and over for a hysterectomy only be told no, or not yet. Dr. Adelson is extremely thorough and professional and committed to his patients. He is fabulous.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Halpert. He has been my OB/GYN for approximately 15 yrs. and I would have it no other way! He is happy, funny, competent and professional. He never rushes you out of the examination room and is completely thorough. Dr. Halpert recently delivered my first child via C-Section and all went perfectly well. I completely trust him and would recommend him to anyone looking for FABULOUS OB/GYN.

I started seeing Dr. Poncy in the fall of 2009. It was a normal annual visit. In Jnauary 2010, an ER CT scan falsely diagnosed me as possibly having cancer. I saw her the next day. She looked over my CT reports, and told me based on my age, that that was very unlikely. Based on my US, while I had an issue, she was cautious, and didn't want to rush into anything. In March 2010, I had a Laproscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy.
I feel that Dr. Poncy's understanding, and cautiousness were right in line. She is a gentle, caring and experienced doctor, and one of the best OB/GYN's I have seen. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Besson is a caring, courteous, thoughtful and pleasant person to be around. She is alos very knowledgeable and skilled, I would highly recommend her.

Doctor Jason Bell, where do I begin.
Cares about his patients like they were family. Very understanding, friendly down to earth guy. Would not trust my feet to anyone but Doctor Bell. He knows my feet are very ticklish and he understands to only touch them when it is necessary. Would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Binford is an amazing physician. She is extremely thorough, kind, patient and knowledgeable.
Her nurses are very understanding and don't make you feel silly for asking many questions. They are also very informed and a good source of information.
My only complaint is that I generally have to wait 30 - 45 minutes to be seen (even with an appointment). However, that is to be expected since Dr. Binford has to deliver children unexpectedly. In my case, my daughter was induced early and I am thankful Nancy she was proactive. I truly believe my daughter would not have survived without such stellar care.

Dr. Lupo has been my doctor for the past 15 years. She performed my fibroidectomy and my hysterectomy. I have found her to be an excellent surgeon and is also very warm and understanding.
Also, when I had a large uterine fibroid that was identified as a possible Ovarian Tumor, she worked with an Oncology Doctor to perform my surgery. I have always found Dr. Lupo to be professional, patient and very personable.
